Night sightseeing at Taj Mahal is considered to be one beautiful sight which bewitches the on looker. It is said that the Taj turns into a silver hue at night and the tourists are allowed to spend half an hour to watch the Taj Mahal glow at the night time. The same can be said for sightseeing the Taj Mahal in broad daylight as one can witness the monument changing its color from light pink at sunrise to golden yellow at sunset. One can spend the entire day watching the Taj transform itself as the day begins and ends.

Photography at Taj Mahal is permitted from the outside but not in the interior of the mausoleum. One can pay up to Rs.25 for a camera and record a video of the complex. Film making and professional video making is not allowed without any prior permit from the Archaeological Survey of India – ASI. The mobile phones are supposed to be switched off once inside the monument’s complex.

Taj Mahal being the cultural and heritage hub of India, provides its visitors various facilities which include the cloak room at three gates, drinking water at the east and the west gates, public restrooms on the sides of the main entrance and special facilities where tourists can keep their videos and camcorder safe in a locker are some points which make Taj Mahal as a visiting spot even more alluring. The Taj Complex has a museum which is accessible during the day from 10 AM to 5 PM and its tickets are to be bought at the ticket counter.

A day at the Taj Mahal can become very happening as you can go and shop in the vicinity of the place. Agra is famous for various handicrafts or one can also go to the Shilpgram located at a distance of 750 meters from the Taj Mahal and buy souvenirs of their visit.
