There are plenty of places to get the taste of rich heritage in India and yet, Taj Mahal stands out amongst them with its striking white marble structure and sprawling green lawns. It\u2019s not just an architectural masterpiece that it\u2019s one of the seven great wonders as enlisted by UNESCO. There\u2019s a history behind it and more so, a story of the abundance of love that the Mughal king Shah Jahan poured out for his queen Mumtaz Mahal. The elegance of the monument not only portrays the timeless quality of love but also becomes a symbol of the culture and the rich Mughal heritage in India.<\/p>\n

If you are new to Agra, take your time to immerse yourself in this masterpiece of a structure. Though it stays as pristine as a pearl anytime of the day, it would be marvellous if you could have a view on a full moon night. It\u2019s quite a sight to behold when, the whiteness of the marble reflects the silver moonlight and it gives you the most ethereal experience of witnessing a view to remember for life. Taj Mahal is sure is the pride of Agra but that\u2019s not where you stop your tour.<\/p>\n

It would be regrettable if you skip the Agra Fort or Fatehpur Sikri in your Agra Tour<\/a>. Also called the \u2018Red Fort of Agra\u2019, Agra Fort represents the magnitude of force and power that the Mughal kings stood for throughout their reign in India. The fort consists of various different structures including the Jahangir Palace and Khas Mahal. This place in fact has witnessed various important events in history. It was also the place where Shah Jahan spent his final days being imprisoned by his son, Aurangzeb and probably spent his last day sighing out love for his Mumtaz Mahal, viewing the Taj Mahal from the prison cell.<\/p>\n

Fatehpur Sikri was built by another great Mughal emperor, Akbar and this monument is a symbolic attempt at blending in various cultures by using Persian styles along with Indo-Islamic architecture. It was built as a city and included various important spots like Birbal\u2019s House and Buland Darwaza. Among other places, one must also visit the Itmad-ud-Daulah which is renowned as the first tomb structure in India. Don\u2019t miss out on the rich delicacies offered in the old markets of Agra along with various delightful souvenirs to collect.<\/p>\n
