Lord Krishna was said to be born on the sacred land of Mathura in a prison, now the Shri Krishna Janmasthan, a Hindu temple in Mathura. Mathura is one of the most sacred cities in all of the world. The city is blessed with serene beauty and fascinating culture. Even though the city is filled with temples it also has some of the most holy mosques in all of the India. By now you must be thinking that the place is only for people of religious beliefs but in reality it’s charms work on everyone alike, the city is capable of capturing everyone’s attention for their diverse interests. Currently, the city has been chosen as one of the heritage cities for the Indian government’s “Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana” scheme. Rangji temple is located on the Mathura-Vrindavan margh in Vrindavan,Mathura. This temple is dedicated to lord sri Goda Ranagamannar, a South Indian deity believed to be a reincarnation of lord Vishnu himself. The temple is built on the classic South Indian architectural style which supports several of the popular temples located in the southern part of India.

Birla temple/Gita temple

Birla temple is located about 6 km away from the Mathura junction on the outskirts of the Mathura-Vrindavan road also known as the Gita temple. It is visited by both tourists and pilgrims. The holy book “Bhagavad Gita” is inscribed on the pillars present in the temple. This temple is a must visit for people interested in history, mythology or art.

Jama Masjid Mathura
